Melksham Music and Drama take to the stage again after award win

FRESH from winning a top award Melksham’s drama group are bringing to the stage their latest production, Musical 5 Tunes.

Melksham Music and Drama were awarded the best comedy award in the South West region by the National Operatic and Drama Association for its production of Act Your Age, which the playwright said was one of the best renditions of his work he had seen.

Now the group are set to bring five songs each from four musicals together for their latest production.

Directors Ali Turrell and Sarah Hodges have each picked two of their favourite musicals and then had fun selecting five songs from each.

Ali Turrell said: “We have chosen musicals with different styles to not only challenge ourselves but to attract a wider audience. Have you ever wanted to see a musical but didn’t want to spent the money for West End tickets, then Musical 5 Tunes is the show for you at a fraction of the cost.”


The show will include songs from The Book of Mormon, Jersey Boys, Rock of Ages and Shrek the musical and is being staged at the Rachel Fowler centre on September 1, 2, 8 and 9. Tickets are available at £8 adults and £6 concessions from Melksham TIC or
